Marine Data Analyst

Due to a sustained period of growth, Partrac is recruiting for Oceanographers / Metocean Engineers, Data Analysts, Instrument Engineers (Sea-going). These new positions would see you joining a rapidly expanding, innovative team with a reputation for delivering high quality marine data and expertise.

Partrac is an independent oceanographic, marine geoscience and environmental survey company. We provide monitoring and survey solutions and consultancy to the offshore renewable industry, ports & dredging companies, regulators, coastal councils and civil engineering consultants.

MARINE DATA ANALYST

We are seeking a Data Analyst to quality control and process data from our range of oceanographic, geoscience and environmental projects.

We seek an experienced, highly motivated and technical team-player who is methodical, organised, and logical.  Knowledge and experience of metocean equipment (e.g. ADCPs, AWACs, wave buoys) and datasets, metocean science, sedimentology and/or the renewable energy sector is highly desirable.

You must be highly computer literate with the confidence to quickly master new software packages. An advanced user of MS Office and Matlab or other programming languages, you will analyse large datasets using existing processing protocols. Further using your analytical mind you will contribute to the development of new Matlab functions and Excel macros to produce quality-controlled data, statistics and images for inclusion into client reports.

You will also be responsible for contributing to technical reports and therefore have experience in technical report writing, with a keen eye for detail

The ideal candidate will have a background in oceanography, applied mathematics, fluid engineering, or a related subject and be qualified to MSc level although a PhD would be advantageous.
