Service Visit Completed for Wave Energy Project

The Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum (PCF), for their Marine Energy Test Area (META) project. The PCF is a community interest company that works to protect the coast and marine environments for current and future generations to enjoy. PCF has been awarded £1.8 million of funding to develop the Marine Energy Test Area (META) project which is a series of test areas in the Milford Haven waterway suitable for a range of Marine Renewable Energy device and component tests. The locations of these test areas are sheltered and accessible and representative of real sea environments.

We’ve been collecting wave resource data to underpin development, use and operation of two wave sites located off the local coastline at Dale Roads and East Pickard Bay. We’ve just successfully completed the second service visit, and although one of the buoys was impacted by a vessel of some sort, the systems have been performing very well. The programme continues through the autumn into the winter months.
