Peter is a founding Director of Partrac. With over twenty years of experience in the marine survey sector, he has developed and directs all our company operations and health and safety procedures.

Peter completed an MSc in Marine Science at Plymouth University in 2001. Following a brief period of work with Fugro GEOS, he established Partrac with Sam Athey and Dr Kevin Black in 2003. Peter has been at the forefront of developing Partrac’s metocean survey capabilities. He has masterminded and directed multi-scale metocean projects, from single waverider and ADCP deployments through to large scale multi-unit deployments, including floating Lidar systems. He is also one of the world’s leading oceanographers, experienced in the acquisition of data in tidal races for the renewable energy sector.

Working with Peter, you will benefit from his unrivalled success in acquiring high quality metocean data at project sites in Europe and the USA. Peter has been directly involved in more than 500 oceanographic deployments, with a track record for 100% data return.

Kevin is a founding Director of Partrac. With over twenty years of experience in the marine survey sector, he is our Technical & Business Development Director.

Kevin oversees several functions including commercial strategy, business development, project direction, provision of technical advice, and the development of our data quality frameworks and data management systems.

Completing his doctorate in Geological Oceanography at the University of Wales (Swansea) in 1990, Kevin is a leading technical specialist in coastal processes and flow-sediment-structure interaction. Kevin has been instrumental in establishing Partrac’s consultancy services and has built a team of highly skilled, motivated staff. He has also led the continuous improvement of our data quality, developing our internal data quality management framework.

Kevin is proactive and client-centred and enjoys being involved with exciting infrastructure and energy projects which are technically challenging.

Sam is Partrac’s Managing Director . He is responsible for the direction of Partrac. Sam has developed the company structure, building a resilient team that focuses on serving the growing offshore renewables industry.

Sam has developed Partrac’s capability to safely deliver oceanographic and wind resource measurement campaigns. He has led numerous measurement projects for the offshore wind sector, including floating offshore wind and real-time metocean monitoring for offshore construction. Over the past six years, Sam has also led floating LiDAR projects, delivering high-quality wind resource data that has underpinned the viability of offshore wind investment decisions.

Sam’s extensive metocean and offshore wind experience, combined with his client-first approach to project delivery, has underpinned Partrac’s success in the offshore renewables sector.
