We’re Hiring – INSTRUMENT Technician

Partrac is a growing metocean company based in UK.  We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrument Technician (onshore) to join our expanding team.

Partrac are Europe’s leading independent metocean provider for the renewables and low-carbon industries. We are known for delivering high quality and safe metocean monitoring campaigns to the growing renewable industries across Europe and have worked on every floating windfarm in the UK to date.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure that all equipment is prepared and maintained to the highest standards. 
  • Undertake bench test and inspection, calibration, acceptance tests and set up of a wide variety of specialist instrumentation and oceanographic moorings, ready for deployment in the marine environment.
  • Working closely with project teams to deliver projects on-time and to a high technical standard.
  • Develop and maintain Partrac’s asset register and asset tracking system.
  • Maintain equipment records and warehouse systems.  
  • Adherence to project management systems e.g. QHSE procedures, accurate completion of equipment documentation to maintain ISO accreditation.
  • Assist in facilities management and day to day running of the warehouse.

What you will have:

  • Educated to level 2 or above in science, engineering, electrical or mechanical installations
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical or engineering role
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications
  • Profficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Awareness of sensor design, data loggers, communication protocols and telemetry systems.
  • Fluent in English (spoken, reading and writing) Clear and confident communicator
  • Full driving licence

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrable experience of marine instrumentation 
  • Background in electronics, engineering, surveying or similar.
  • Systematic and methodical approach with a fine attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to priorise effectively 
  • A positive pro-active attitude
