Turbulence in Marine Environments: New Guidance Released

New guidance has been released on Turbulence in Marine Environments to improve understanding and reduce risk for the tidal energy industry. The TiME project consortium (consisting of partners Partrac, Ocean Array Systems, ABPmer, and IT Power). has announced today that the Guidance formulated from the TiME (Turbulence in Marine Environments) project has now been released. The project, funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Carbon Trust through the Marine Renewables Commercialisation Fund (MRCF) Array Technology Innovation Programme, was developed to improve the understanding of the effect of marine turbulence on tidal arrays in Scottish waters. ...Dec 31, 2014

DREDGING CONFERENCE 2015

Date: 19TH-22ND OCTOBER 2015
Time: 09:00-17:00
Venue: Hyatt Regency Savannah

The Dredging 2015 conference is a four-day technical specialty conference which will bring together professionals and practitioners from all parts of the world to discuss a broad spectrum of topics related to dredging.

Dr Kevin Black will have a presentation at the event named

"ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING AND CONTROL OF SEDIMENTS AROUND DREDGING AND RECLAMATION WORKS, THAMES UK"

PRO-TIDE 2015

Date: 30th September - 1st October 2015
Time: 9.00 - 17.00
Venue: Port of Dover Cruise Terminal 2

This Conference will share the findings of the Pro-Tide pilot schemes with regards to the planning, development and operation of tidal energy installations. The wider tidal energy sector is invited to share their knowledge and debate further opportunities to exploit low head/flow tidal energy to make it commercially viable and to reduce the environmental impact.
